The other 2 teaspoons of paprika are supposed to be added to the butter for the fries. It was left out in the recipe book, but the online recipe has it in there. I guess that's why they're "Spanish Fries."

We couldn't find frozen spinach for some weird reason, so we used fresh spinach in this one. It was actually pretty good. I can see it not being so good with the frozen spinach though.

I think you guys might like eggs better if you scrambled them (and put ketchup on them). My husband doesn't like boiled, fried, poached, or any other kind, but he loves them scrambled (with cheese especially). I always have to alter these egg recipes to make them scrambled for him.

Did you guys just put a slice of toasted bread underneath your stew? Is it just me or is that what the recipe said to do? I've never heard of a crouton the size of a piece of bread!

I don't know who you are, but your website is funny. I'm doing a similar thing with Rachael Ray's one year cookbook this year (I'm not making all the recipes because sometimes we just don't eat at home). My comment on the fa schizzel my schnitzel recipe is: I thought it was very good. I guess I'm not as literal about the recipes as you are. I lived in Germany for a year, and I was very happy to find some German food in the cookbook. I made the schnitzel with pork and made the mushroom gravy to go with it, which made it very much like a German "Jaegerschnitzel." I left off the lemon this time, because you already have the gravy to flavor the meat. My husband says that bacon makes everything better and it was delicious on the gravy. I do however agree, it could have done without the pickles! I think this recipe was probably my favorite so far (without the pickles). It was better that yesterday's too, because I used pork instead of chicken. I think the pork is better.
