About Us
Hello, and welcome to this part of the superhighway. The people you’ll find here are H, L, Little A and Baby N, who live in a city in the Midwest. H is a British lass and L is a bloke from Denmark- Little A is our American daughter, being born here in late 2005. As of October 2007, Baby A became Little A, because daughter number two arrived, and she is Baby N. We moved here for job reasons and stayed because we could.
Anyways, moving on. Why this Blog, “One Year Project”? Well, we are extremely fascinated by the cult of the Food Network and the notion of the celebrity chef. Rachael Ray is particularly fascinating as she seems to inspire incredible feelings of love or loathing. The idea that people can watch elaborate meals being prepared on TV all day, then stick a frozen pizza in the oven is somehow peculiar.
So, Rachael Ray has written a book entitled “365: No Repeats A Year of Deliciously Different Dinners“. In it, she enthusiastically claims that you can have a different meal each night for a year, each taking less than 30 minutes to cook. Well, you have to eat, right? We have decided to follow the book from start to finish. No matter the recipe, no matter whether we want to eat what is in the book, no matter whether it’s a blazing hot summer’s day and Rachael says we should have roast lamb. That’s what we’re going to do.
At least that’s the plan. This site is to hold us accountable. Photos and reports will stop us eating what we want, when we want it.
